LAAX OPEN 2024: A resounding success – press the repeat button

"Creativity is everything in our sport," echoes from the Riders Lounge.

Class and ease at the same time – that's what the 200 World Cup riders offer the judges, spectators, and fans in the stands, on livestream, and on TV. In Laax, Graubünden, and around the world from Manchester to Australia. On one or two freestyle boards, they follow the rule of three – "snow, air, snow" – and convey a sense of infinity.

9, 10, 12, 14, and 16—how many revolutions is that?

The amount of technique, training, and discipline that goes into their performances remains in the background at the LAAX OPEN 2024. Here, they enjoy the enthusiasm of the audience, the presenters, the oohs and aahs, and the applause. And they are grateful to be able to show off their skills in unique freestyle facilities. What an innovative slopestyle course and what a magnificent superpipe the snowparkLAAX team conjures up year after year on the Crap Sogn Gion mountain, the "rock of St. John"!

"Backside airs are and always will be the most stylish jumps , " say snowboard fans from the early days. Chloe Kim, Olympic champion in 2018 and 2022 and multiple OPEN winner in LAAX since 2010, makes a special impression with her immense backside air on the first hit of this year's night final, leaving thousands of spectators in awe. Just like Birk Ruud in freeski slopestyle, who takes off into the air at the final feature, the quarter, lands safely and leaves the community speechless.

The view of the Event Village during the nighttime gondola ride down into the valley is beyond words: the rocksresort is buzzing with excitement and music. The best thing to do is to join the crowd and start rapping along.

LAAX OPEN 2024 – What an event!

Radiant for freestyle sports and freestyle lifestyle. Laax at its finest. As top freeskier and multiple World Cup winner Andri Ragettli says: "I am a freestyler because of Laax."
