Snowboarders kick off the LAAX OPEN 2023 with the men's slopestyle qualification

Today, 60 snowboarders from around the world competed in two heats at the FIS Snowboard World Cup in Slopestyle Qualification at Crap Sogn Gion for a place in the final.

As winners of their heats, Ryoma Kimata (JPN) and Dusty Henricksen (USA) gained a lot of confidence for the grand final (January 21, 2023), as the level in today's qualification was incredibly high and absolutely worthy of the final. The 12 finalists include favorites such as Valentino Guseli (AUS), Sven Thorgren (SWE), Rene Rinnekangas (FIN), and Marcus Kleveland (NOR), who showed off his nollie double rodeo 1080 on the second kicker. Nicolas Huber will be flying the flag for host country Switzerland in the final, while Austria's neighbors are delighted that Clemens Millauer has made it through to the final. A happy Dusty Henricksen after qualifying: "I'm so relieved that my first run went well. The weather was good, the course was great, and I'm already looking forward to the final."
