Reigning slopestyle world champion and local hero Andri Ragettli (SUI) wins ahead of Olympic champions Alex Hall (USA) and Birk Ruud (NOR) in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Crap Sogn Gion above Laax: "This is the first time that freeskiing has been included in the Laax Open, and to win here right away is incredible and super cool. I had to adapt a couple of things because of the weather. But that's what makes a good skier, and I'm super happy that my run went so well."
Johanne Killi is no stranger to the winners' podium in LAAX. As the first LAAX OPEN Freeski winner, the Norwegian closes the circle to the European Freeski Open, which was held in Laax in previous years. She already won as a newcomer in 2014. Second place went to Sarah Höfflin, the 2018 Olympic champion. Third place went to world champion Tess Ledeux (FRA).
The concept of combining freeskiing with snowboarding at Europe's most prestigious freestyle event has been a success. Creative fun in the LAAX snow park – following the pros, from tomorrow it will be open again to anyone who feels like giving it a go.
