Discovery Days: Adventures, photos, and stories from around the globe on the big screen

Flims, September 13, 2023. It's that time again: from September 22 to 23, 2023, thrilling adventures and breathtaking images will return to Flims. The Discovery Days are taking place for the sixth time. A total of 18 exciting topics have made it to the final round of the lecture festival. They will all be presented with great passion by the speakers at the Waldhaus Arena in Flims. At the end of the festival, the best lectures will be awarded prizes by a jury.

They have experienced extraordinary things, they love traveling, and they see the world through different eyes – the 18 speakers who will take to the stage at the sixth Discovery Days in Flims. They all have extraordinary stories to tell, which they will present on a big screen at the Waldhaus Arena in Flims on Friday, September 22, and Saturday, September 23, 2023. Their aim is not only to amaze and entertain the audience, but also to encourage them to reflect.

Captivating stories from around the world

Among other things, stories will be told about remote villages in the Himalayas, ski expeditions, a solo crossing of Antarctica, and a journey through Patagonia. There will also be insights into an electric motorcycle trip through Africa, reports on hunting in Mongolia, and a woman will talk about what it's like to live with the Maasai as a German. With such a wide range of topics, Discovery Days are a highlight for all mountain sports, nature, and travel enthusiasts. The lectures take place during the day, and in the evening, the "campfire talk" offers the opportunity to ask the speakers questions and discuss topics. It is an event designed to bring travelers together and, if possible, encourage them to embark on an adventure of their own from time to time.

Two exciting presentations outside of the competition

The Discovery Days will kick off with a non-competitive presentation: on Thursday evening, September 21, 2023, Nick Martin will talk about the "coolest gap in his resume." At the age of 25, he bought a one-way ticket to Mexico and wanted to spend a year traveling the world, but it ended up being six years. In his comedy show, he recounts the funniest and most unusual adventures from his world trip.

On Saturday evening, September 23, 2023, there will be another highlight before the award ceremony. The Swiss Blum family fulfilled a dream and lived in the Canadian wilderness for a while. Accompanied by stunning images, Markus Blum tells their exciting and authentic story from their time in Canada. They had many adventures there and lived in an idyllic log cabin, among other places.
