Innovation

Innovative solutions in the Weisse Arena Group are of high importance. The main focus is always the comfort for our guests. As part of the major project "Revolution on the Mountain", the ski area for the winter 2012/13 season is to be extended by two further cableways: Treis Palas-Crap Masegn and Plaun Lavadinas-Fuorcla Sura. With total 29 cableways now available, this will make LAAX the largest connected skiing area in the Grisons.

6 seater chairlift Plaun Lavadinas - Fuorcla Sura (former Alp Ruschein)

The 2-seater chairlift from Alp Ruschein to Crap Masegn is a thing of the past. Guests will now be transported on an ultramodern 6-seater chairlift, which has been developed in cooperation with Porsche Design Studio. In addition to its futuristic design, these ultra sleek and comfortable chairs will impress with unique technical innovations. At the back of the seats is a solar panel which covers the power needs required for the heated seats and provides even more comfort. Another highlight is a link in the suspension cabling, that can swing the chair 45 degrees against the direction of travel. Instead of viewing the person in front, guests can enjoy a clear view of the mountain landscape.

Unlike previous chairlifts, the new system also travels at six metres per second instead of five and thus achieves a capacity increase of 20 percent.
