Tidal Art Show visits LAAX for the third time

Laax, March 27, 2023. From April 3 to 9, 2023, the Tidal Art Show returns to LAAX for its third edition. Invited artists from all over the world will be inspired by the mountains of Graubünden while snowboarding and will create art together. And they will do so in a unique setting: for the first time, they will be staying in the hangar at Crap Sogn Gion, 2,252 meters above sea level. Their works of art can be admired at the Riders Hotel on April 7 and 8, 2023.

The Tidal Art Show in LAAX: Following on from 2018 and 2019, the art exhibition will take place for the third time in LAAX from April 3 to 9, 2023. For one week, style, freedom, expression, community, sport, and culture will come together. More specifically, snowboard culture. This is an essential part of the Tidal Art Show: the artists themselves are rooted in the international snowboard community. In addition to creating art, they will also be shredding the parks and pipes together during their stay in LAAX. There could hardly be a better inspiration for their work.

First-ever artist residency on the mountain at 2,252 meters above sea level.

During the week, the artists will be staying on the mountain for the first time, in the hangar at Crap Sogn Gion at 2,252 meters above sea level. The residence will be open to the public from Tuesday to Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Interested winter sports guests will thus be able to gain an insight into the creative process behind the works and also exchange ideas with the artists. The original works of art will be on sale and exhibited on April 7 and 8, 2023, from 6 p.m. each day in the lobby and art space of the Riders Hotel. Admission to the vernissage is free.

The artists include international names such as Hannah Eddy (USA), Arthur Longo (FR), Sarah King (UK/CAN), Danny Larsen (NOR), Schoph (UK), Peter-John De Villiers (NOR), Agne Stasinskaite (LTU), Fabian Fuchs (DE), and Jake Price (USA). But national artists such as Davina Deplazes (CH), Hunter Longe (USA/CH), and Tidal curators Aaron Schwartz (CH/CAN) and Jonathan Voellmy (CH) are also participating.

Korua Tidal Wave Session and concerts at the Riders Club

After the opening night on Friday, the live music continues at the Riders Club with a concert by funk/hip-hop band LEOPARD Ale, followed by a DJ set by Svenskj. Of course, snowboarding together is just as important as art and music. On Saturday, April 8, 2023, the "Korua Tidal Wave Open Expression Session" will kick off at 10:00 a.m. in the halfpipe at NoName Snowpark. Participation is open to everyone. Points and prizes will be awarded for style and attitude. In the evening, the fun continues at the Riders Club with Janiv Oron (Goldfinger Brothers) and K-RIM.
