Laax, December 30, 2019. Riders from all over the world are getting ready to compete in the most prestigious snowboard contest in the Alps, the LAAX OPEN 2020. Around 200 snowboard pros will kick off the new decade by taking part in the FIS Snowboard World Cup from January 13 to 18, 2020, in LAAX.

It is an honor for all riders to participate in this international competition; many feel an exciting tingle, some are celebrating their LAAX premiere, others a comeback. Others have a clear goal in mind: to win their favorite world-class event—or to win again, like the LAAX OPEN 2019 champions Silje Norendal (NOR), Chris Corning (USA), and Scotty James (AUS). Or the LAAX OPEN 2018 winners Liu Jiayu (CHN) and Iouri Podladtchikov (SUI) – thelist goes on and on, featuring big names as well as up-and-coming stars and newcomers.

Preparations are in full swing to ensure perfect conditions for everyone. The experienced "snowpark LAAX" crew has designed an innovative slopestyle course with six elements. The kicker line is sure to be a crowd favorite again in 2020.

Right next to it, the superpipe sits enthroned on Crap Sogn Gion, already in top form: 200 meters long with a 22-meter transition and 6.90-meter-high walls. A real treat for halfpipe riders.

The detailed program for LAAX OPEN 2020, including sports & sound, cuisine & culture, is available online on theevent websiteand on theInside LAAX app.
