LAAX OPEN presented by Zalando: Chloe Kim and Scotty James win the LAAX OPEN halfpipe competition again in 2025

Style, style, style reigns supreme at the spectacular night finale, and the crowd is amazed and goes wild.

12,000 spectators gathered at Crap Sogn Gion above LAAX to watch the 20 best halfpipe riders in the world compete in the showdown of the 10th LAAX OPEN, the FIS Snowboard World Cup with prize money totaling CHF 70,000.

2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2025 – Chloe Kim, the 24-year-old grande dame of halfpipe, who has won everything there is to win in her sport, impresses across the board and clinches her fifth LAAX OPEN title with her first run (96.50 points). Unique.

"I've been coming to LAAX since I was 9, and now being back here in 2025 and winning feels very special. The development of the sport and being a part of it means everything to me." That's exactly in line with the Laax freestyle philosophy.

Behind Chloe Kim, her US teammate Maddie Mastro takes second place. Mastro (24) makes snowboarding history as the first woman to land two double corks in one run. 16-year-old Korean Gaon Choi secures third place and stands on the podium for the first time in LAAX. Defending champion Mitsuki Ono misses out on the podium, finishing fourth.

2019, 2020, 2024, 2025 – In the men's competition, Australia's Scotty James shows nerves of steel. "The atmosphere here in LAAX is simply incomparable; the crowd and the pipe are always phenomenal."

The 30-year-old halfpipe veteran impresses with an incredible second run featuring a Cab Triple Cork 1440 Frontside Grab, for which he scores 95.75 points, making him the winner on the podium for the fourth time. As so often, his main competitors are the strong Japanese team. Ruka Hirano finished just behind him in second place. His compatriot Ayumu Hirano, 2022 Olympic champion and two-time LAAX OPEN winner (2016, 2022), completed the top three.

MOBB DEEP gets the crowd going again. What a great birthday party for the 10th LAAX OPEN. Freestyle culture at its best!
