Over 250 riders aged between 6 and 60 are taking part in the 9th Banked Slalom LAAX. Women, men, children, and teenagers will be competing in 15 categories this weekend in the most original snowboarding discipline. The right turn is required for the 19 turns! Spectators and cheering are allowed.
Big names from the professional snowboarding circuit from then until now are on the start lists: starting in the 1990s with alpine star Peter Bauer, boardercross pro Reto Poltera, followed by Olympians Ueli Kestenholz, halfpipe ladies Ariane Staib-Glaus and 2003 world champion Fabienne Dirksen-Reuteler, to current LAAX pro rider Dave Hablützel, 2022/2023 Park'n'Pipe overall World Cup winner Valentino Guseli and banked pro Josh Dirksen.
Whether from the industry with Darius Heristchian, Reto Neiger, and Jan Prokes, from the strong Snowpark LAAX Shaper Crew, the experienced Open-Banked Riders scene, and Freestyle Academy LAAX, or families and friends from near and far—they all share a passion for snowboarding. And many of them have already stood on the podium at Banked Slalom LAAX. Because ultimately, what counts is who is the fastest.
On Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3, the action kicks off at 10 a.m. each day. The inviting finish area, which includes a small bar, is ideal for spectators. Everyone is welcome to watch the riding, dancing, and roller coaster ride through the hand-scooped steep turns. The location is located from the Crap Sogn Gion mountain station in the direction of Curnius, on the left side of the P60 slope near the "Affenfelsen" (monkey rock).
The award ceremonies will take place in the valley on the Indy Stage at the rocksresort. Many riders can be found later at the Indy and the Riders Club for the Saturday evening program.
Good to know: The railway in LAAX starts operating at 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays for all winter sports enthusiasts.
