Banked Slalom LAAX: It's spinning again!

What's it all about? Turns, snowboards, times. Good times, fast times, and lots of fun on and off the slopes. On March 2 and 3, 2024, the Banked Slalom will take place in Laax for the ninth time. The most original contest discipline in snowboarding attracts hundreds to Laax, the resort that has been synonymous with snowboard culture worldwide since 1986. Anyone who wants to actively participate in the winding race can now register register .

Gather speed in every steep turn and carry it into the next one with gusto, curve after curve toward the finish line – that's the motto for the diverse field of participants: carefree children, ambitious ex-pros, tricky freestylers, speedy teenagers, elegant cat women, and local experts and pros from snowparkLAAX. Strong thighs are generally an advantage, and cheering at the start is just as typical as applause for everyone at the finish line.

On Saturday, starting at 10:00 a.m., it's time for the Open (18-39 years), Masters (40 years and older), and Pros categories. The award ceremony at the rocksresort at 5:00 p.m. will kick off a festive evening in the valley. Vegetarian dinner at the Riders Hotel followed by DJ Crissi at the Indy Bar (from 9:30 p.m.) or the Schmusi Kollektiv at the Riders Club (from 10:00 p.m.).

Sunday is traditionally kids' day. Starting at 11:00 a.m., girls and boys in three age groups will compete on the same course as the adults did the day before.

The Fakie Race will once again conclude the Banked Slalom LAAX in 2024. Whether small, medium, or large – everyone is equal. There is only one category. Whoever completes the course backwards on a snowboard the fastest wins the trophy!

Sustainability has always played an important role in this intergenerational event: from the use of materials to start numbers and trophies to sustainable moments that will remain with the more than 300 participating riders and fans of the event. This will also be the case in 2024, when the weekend of March 2-3 will see the event get underway.
