Flavio Albin
Age: 16
Place of residence: Laax
Apprenticeship: Commercial clerk EFZ
"I am an avid skier and also enjoy reading. My friends describe me as a team player, helpful, trustworthy, punctual—I would agree with that. A perfect working day for me is when I am busy all day, have a good lunch, and can finish work on time. I had a very good start to my apprenticeship and find the work both entertaining and interesting. I expect my training to provide me with enough tasks to keep me engaged. I also hope that my individuality will be accepted and that I will be treated fairly. I chose a commercial apprenticeship because I enjoy interacting with people, am confident using computers, and this profession offers solid basic training. My goal is to further improve my interpersonal skills during my training."
Jannis Gautschi
Age: 17
Place of residence: Vella
Apprenticeship: Hotel specialist EFZ
In my free time, I enjoy playing the drums, soccer, and skiing. My friends appreciate my friendliness and loyalty. I see myself as a rather shy but fun and friendly person. For me, a perfect workday would be one without waiting times and with enough work to do. My start in training was great—my colleagues gave me a warm welcome. What I particularly like about my apprenticeship is that I always work at the same place; what I like less is constantly having to look for work. Since I started working at Weisse Arena, I have been impressed by the diversity. During my training, I expect respect and enjoyment in my further development. I chose to train as a hotel specialist because it will allow me to work anywhere in the world and always find work abroad. During my apprenticeship, I want to build my self-confidence and develop more courage. My goals are to successfully complete my apprenticeship and continue my education in marketing."

Gino Simeon
Age: 15
Place of residence: Fidaz
Apprenticeship: Cable car mechatronics technician EFZ
"I enjoy spending time outdoors in the mountains, whether biking or climbing. My friends appreciate my sense of humor, and I would rate my start in the apprenticeship as 10 out of 10. Mechanical devices hold a special fascination for me. One highlight was the day we flew roller batteries and then had a barbecue. The team here feels like a big family, and teamwork is particularly important to me. My hobbies inspired me to choose my career field, and I hope to further expand my technical understanding. Specific career goals are not my main concern; above all, I strive to enjoy my work. So far, I am convinced that I made the right decision."
Martim Da Costa
Age: 19
Place of residence: Obwalden
Apprenticeship: Cook EFZ
"I enjoy hiking and writing music. My friends describe me as extremely helpful, which is also how I see myself. A perfect working day for me is when exactly the expected number of guests arrive and we produce exactly the right amount of food that is needed. My start to the training program was very positive and I particularly like the school, as I can also interact with other chefs there. I was amazed at how quickly people here supported me—in my previous apprenticeship, it was common for everyone to work on their own. I decided to do an apprenticeship as a chef because both my parents work in the restaurant industry. I hope to improve my time management, and my goal is to one day become a head chef."

Simon Herzig
Age: 19
Place of residence: Bachs, Zurich
Apprenticeship: Cable car mechatronics technician EFZ
I particularly enjoy playing floorball and skiing. My friends appreciate my helpfulness. Friendliness and honesty are also core aspects of my personality. For me, the perfect end to a working day is coming home healthy. My start to the apprenticeship was great and I feel comfortable here. I am particularly enthusiastic about working on the FlemXpress. My goal is to master all the skills of a cable car mechatronics engineer after my apprenticeship. I find the profession fascinating because of its versatility – no two days are the same. My long-term goal is to become an expert in this field."
We wish the trainees every success in their training and, above all, much enjoyment in their work at the Weisse Arena Group.
