Every year, Pro Velo Switzerland’s nationwide “bike to work” campaign encourages thousands of people to bike to work in May and June. Across Switzerland, a total of 30,624,377 kilometers were cycled, saving 4,410 metric tons of CO₂.
The Weisse Arena Group participated again in 2026: 28 employees in 7 teams collectively covered 6,087 kilometers and saved 877 kilograms of CO₂. For over 16 years, the “bike to work” Challenge has been a fixture on the Weisse Arena Group’s annual calendar—with the goal of promoting eco-friendly mobility and offering a healthy alternative to motorized transportation. In total, participants logged 625 days of cycling, which represents 78% of all possible commutes.
Results of the Top Teams
First place went to the team “Der Muskelkater-Express,” which covered 1,063 kilometers, cycled for 120 days, had a cycling rate of 93%, and reduced CO₂ emissions by 153 kilograms. Yannik Wicki, Patric Perez, Hanibal Meseret, and Maxime Classen cycled together to achieve this result.
In second place was the “Wheelie Good Team” with 830 kilometers, 88 days of cycling, a cycling rate of 87%, and CO₂ savings of 119 kilograms.
Third place went to "Team DNA," which covered 961.6 kilometers, spent 85 days cycling, had a cycling rate of 85%, and reduced CO₂ emissions by 138 kilograms.
Comparison with the Previous Year
In 2026, 28 employees participated in 7 teams—slightly fewer than the previous year, when 30 people competed in 8 teams. However, the total distance covered—6,087 kilometers—exceeded the previous year’s total of 6,004 kilometers. Nevertheless, the commitment to climate-friendly mobility within the Weisse Arena Group remains encouragingly high.
Congratulations and many thanks to all the participants!
