Start of training in 2025: Welcome to the Weisse Arena Group!

Starting basic vocational training is a significant step in the lives of young people. At the beginning of this week, we welcomed six new apprentices to the Weisse Arena Group. They are embarking on a new phase of their lives with great curiosity and motivation – and we are delighted to be able to accompany them on this journey.

In their portraits, you can find out more about who they are, what drives them, and why they chose to do an apprenticeship with the Weisse Arena Group. We wish our new apprentices a successful start, lots of exciting experiences, and above all, lots of fun in their work!

Iris Banyard

Age: 17
Place of residence: Rheinau, ZH
Apprenticeship: Cook EFZ

"Ichose WAG because I had an extremely positive experience during my trial day. The team gave me a warm welcome, was very friendly, and always helpful—this pleasant atmosphere convinced me immediately.

Another reason for my decision is my great love of the mountains. I am passionate about being outdoors, and snowboarding in particular is one of my favorite hobbies. WAG offers ideal conditions for this and combines career prospects with a living environment in which I feel completely at home.

Sophia Lichtenwalder

Age: 19 years old
Place of residence: Ilanz, GR
Apprenticeship: Internship as a commercial clerk EFZ

I deliberately chose this internship because it is not only very varied, but also extremely exciting. After three instructive years at business school, which I successfully completed in June, I see this internship as an ideal opportunity to gain valuable practical experience and apply my theoretical knowledge in a diverse professional environment. For me, it is the perfect introduction to the world of work and an exciting chance to develop new skills and further my personal and professional development."

Elias Baumann

Place of residence: Wetzikon ZH, WAG apprentice shared apartment
Apprenticeship: Cable car mechatronics technician EFZ

"I decided to do an apprenticeship as a cable car mechatronics engineer EFZ at WAG because I really like the team. Plus, Laax is a beautiful place and therefore also a beautiful place to work."

Svenja Waser

Age: 17
Place of residence: Oberarth SZ, WAG apprentice shared apartment
Apprenticeship: Cable car mechatronics technician EFZ

Even as a child, I loved being in the mountains – whether skiing or hiking. I am an open, cheerful person who can be relied upon, and I like everything to be in order. After completing my EBA apprenticeship as a cable car operator, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to learn more about the technology and continue with an EFZ apprenticeship as a cable car mechatronics engineer. Since I have friends and relatives in Graubünden and I think the region is simply great, I definitely wanted to do my training here. During my trial day in Laax, I was impressed by the motivated team – everyone was helpful and took their time. I am looking forward to getting to know exciting facilities, expanding my knowledge, and completing my apprenticeship with joy and success."

Binia Meyer
