Our LAAX riders Sina Candrian, David Hablützel and Andri Ragettli are well-known beyond Switzerland’s borders. But that’s mainly in winter, when they fly through the air on skis and snowboard, get big appearances in film productions, win medals all over the world and bring them back to LAAX. Because all three freestylers live and train in LAAX in winter. But how do these professional winter sports athletes keep busy during summer? As we all know, as an athlete it’s important to balance things out in the summer and stay fit. That’s why we have listed the favourite activities of the LAAX riders as summer tips in the destination of Flims.

My summer base is: Flims (as in winter)
My favourite summer activity in Flims is: biking on the Runca mountainbike trail or the countless playful single trails in the big forest of Flims. But of course I also like to go up the mountain without two wheels, but with a camera and hiking boots. My insider tip: climb the via ferrata “Pinut” early in the morning at dawn and enjoy the sunrise at the top! Afterwards, there is a great and very cool refreshing bath in the Bargisbach.

My summer base is: Flims (as in winter too)
My favourite summer activity in Flims is: Mountainbiking on the Runca or the Never End Trail. The Runca Trail starts in Naraus. Therefore, it is best to take the chairlift from Flims to the Naraus mountain station. It has many jumps and waves and is one of the longest flow country trails in Europe. The freeride route The Never End Trail starts at Crap Sogn Gion at 2252 metres above sea level and ends in Laax-Murschetg. Fun Fact: I once took part in the Trailfox bike event in Flims in 2013 just for fun and won the rookie category straight away.

In LAAX in winter you can find me: in the Superpipe or in the snowpark P60 (Crap Sogn Gion – Curnius)
My favourite summer activity in Flims is: Skateboarding in the Snakerun or the Urban Surfwave right by the Laax-Murschetg valley station, or discovering the many hiking trails in the ski area. When the weather doesn’t cooperate, I’m usually at the Freestyle Academy trying out new tricks. Especially on the trampolines or the skateboard mini-bowl. And when I’m not skatesurfing in LAAX, I’m probably out somewhere by the sea.
