Caffè NoName – the hotspot for all freestylers. But that's not all! These days, the guests at Caffè NoName couldn't be more diverse. International freestyle pros, youngsters and soon-to-be stars of the freestyle scene, moms and dads, or simply those who enjoy the finer things in life – because the coffee at Caffè NoName is without a doubt one of the best in the entire LAAX ski resort. During the past harsh winter season, the Caffè NoName team managed to save up a tidy sum in tips and decided to treat themselves to a team trip to Madrid. Read about the NoName team's Madrid highlights in the interview.
How did the Caffè NoName tip team trip to Madrid come about after the official end of the LAAX season?
Since Caffè NoName was open every day during the winter season, the team never had the opportunity to do something together during the day. Although we are inseparable in our free time, at least three of us always had to work. During the countless party nights at Indy, Riders, or in the gondola hall, our team was usually there in full force. However, we thought it would be nice for a change to do something together in daylight.
What's more, our team trip to Berlin in spring 2017 was amazing. The tip trip is set to become a NoName tradition. We chose Madrid because it's Cristina's hometown, and it's always really exciting to see a team member's home town with your own eyes.
Who was on the Tip Trip and what were your Madrid highlights?
Nicole "Nici" Weber, Cristina Valle, Carolina Pezzicari, Francesa "Fraenci" Valsecchi, Melanie "Meli" Schmid, Serap Aslantas, and Mara Bottoni were all part of the trip. Unfortunately, the serious Shannon Glaser had to stay in Zurich due to her studies.
Our highlights were the flamenco dance class, where we learned new dance steps for the upcoming parties of the 2018/2019 winter season. Another highlight was El Retiro Park, which we explored after a fun night of partying, completely exhausted and without any sleep, which made everything even more amusing. Or our huge apartment, where we organized a spontaneous house party on Fraencis' birthday. The apartment was also perfect for Serap's relaxing yoga lessons every morning. Of course, there was also plenty of shopping, which was to be expected with seven women.
What does summer look like for you, and who from the Caffè NoName team will we see again next winter 2018/2019 at the coffee machine 2252 meters above sea level?
We enjoy our summer together in all kinds of different combinations. Fraenci, Nici, and Meli fly to Madrid and then straight on to Amsterdam. After that, Nici, Meli, Cristina, and Carolina meet up again in Mexico. Fraenci can be found this summer in Zurich at the Oberenletten river pool on the sun deck, where she has taken a seasonal job. If you fancy some outdoor cinema, it's best to reserve a ticket at the Allianz Cinema in Zurich. Serap, Nici, and Meli will be busy shaking cocktails in the fresh air at the bar by the lake and are very much looking forward to seeing familiar faces from the winter. Carolina is visiting her family in Italy before her extended trip to Mexico and Cuba. And for those who can't get enough of the delicious NoName coffee, Cristina will be at the Caffé Flims at the valley station this summer. Mara and Shannon are continuing their studies in Zurich.
Who will be back at Caffè NoName next winter is still written in the stars. However, we have all made a pact: we will all come back if we find a big house where the whole NoName team can live together.
Finally, any wishes for the 2019 team trip?
