When Flimser travel to Flums: Tour of the new UNESCO railway at Bartholet AG

On Saturday, December 4, 2021, all residents of Flims and owners of second homes were invited to visit the infrastructure buildings and gondolas currently under construction for the UNESCO railway access at Bartholet Maschinenbau AG in Flums. They learned interesting facts about the status of the project and were able to familiarize themselves with the innovative railway system and its technology. Special highlights included the Startgels model station, a tour of the facility, and the unveiling of the new gondola, including its naming.

"Flem Express" is the name of the new railway line connecting the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona from Flims via Foppa, Startgels to the Segneshütte and from there either to Nagens or Ils Cugns. The name was unveiled at a viewing event at the cable car manufacturer Bartholet Maschinenbau AG in Flums with the Flims voting population.

The innovative rail system and its technology left a lasting impression on the people of Flims, including Beat Livers: "It's a fantastic event. Everyone was able to see it up close. A very nice name for a great innovation. I was impressed by the Bartholet company."

Construction work will begin in spring 2022 and can be followed on an ongoing basis via a video construction diary.
