On Monday, April 7, 2025, the legendary ski and snowboard race for employees of the Weisse Arena Group took place. Around 317 WAG employees didn't want to miss out on the racing spectacle at Crap Sogn Gion – some as racers, others as spectators. Afterwards, a delicious dinner awaited everyone at the Galaaxy. This traditional event is considered the WAG's internal end-of-season party and was once again a resounding success.

Around 128 employees stood ready with their skis and snowboards at the starting gates on Crap Sogn Gion. Snow sports instructors from the LAAX School, employees from the mountain railways, catering, marketing, and many other areas took part in the race. They competed against each other in teams of four in a parallel slalom and gave it their all. Those who did not take part in the race cheered on the competitors and enjoyed the evening sun on the terrace of the Satellite Bar.
Popular racing format with plenty of excitement
The format of the ski and snowboard race is legendary within WAG and extremely popular: four parallel slaloms are set out side by side on the Crap Sogn Gion slope towards Alp Dado. The LAAX School team led by Hampi Casutt and many volunteers are responsible for ensuring that the race runs smoothly. When the start numbers are handed out, all participants are divided into groups of four. It doesn't matter which snow sports equipment you use: skis or snowboard. Each group has different levels of ability, which ensures fairness, action, and excitement.
A total of 31 teams took part this year. The starting signal was given at 5 p.m., and the first four runners set off at high speed. As soon as the first team member reached the finish line, the second team member started, and so on. The best teams progressed round after round until, in the end, only the last four teams were left to battle it out for the podium places.

Dinner and awards ceremony
After the race, all employees enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Galaaxy. During the meal, they discussed the race, toasted the past winter season, and watched the sun set behind the mountain peaks. After dessert, the four best teams were honored at the award ceremony and presented with fantastic prizes. The evening slowly drew to a close and everyone took the gondola back down to the valley.
A big thank you goes to everyone who organized this event and ensured a very successful end to the season, which I'm sure everyone who attended will look back on fondly. Special thanks go to the LAAX School team, the Galaaxy team, the organizers from the People & Culture department, and the railway employees.
