From 2025, around a third of technical managers will retire. The industry and Swiss Cableways are called upon to ensure the further training of the next generation. This requires more apprentices on the one hand and, on the other, enough cable car companies to train them. With "Alpine Tech Heroes," the association is launching a national campaign in collaboration with all regions in Switzerland, featuring two taster days on March 18 and 22, 2024.
LAAX is also hosting exciting taster days on these two dates, where you can find out more about careers as a cable car operator and cable car mechatronics engineer. Are you interested in training? Then register now for the free taster days. Simply click on the button below, search for "Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG" in the filter and register for your desired date.
Training as a cable car mechatronics technician EFZ
Cable car mechatronics technicians with a Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ) ensure that cable cars operate safely and reliably. They enjoy working outdoors, have a head for heights, and are passionate about technology and mechanics. The apprenticeship provides in-depth knowledge in technical areas such as maintenance and repairs, as well as organizational matters. Professional interaction with guests is also part of the training. Find out more about the day-to-day work of an apprentice at the Weisse Arena Group.
