Freestyle at the highest level: LAAX OPEN 2026 kicks off

The international snowboard and freeski elite has arrived in LAAX: the LAAX OPEN 2026 presented by Zalando is set to kick off from January 15 to 18. After intensive training days, the preliminary rounds of the FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup will start on Thursday. This is the last chance to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics. And it will take place on a challenging, innovative, and creative slopestyle course and in the LAAX Superpipe, which has always been considered the best in the world. Led by superstars Eileen Gu (CHN) and Scotty James (AUS), the illustrious field of over 200 riders promises freestyle at the highest level. Multiple Olympic and world champion Gu will be defending her freeski title from last year in LAAX, while four-time LAAX OPEN winner James leads the snowboard field.

All decisions made at the LAAX OPEN 2026 are freely accessible. For those who can't make it to LAAX, a livestream will be available on laaxopen.com starting Thursday.
