Flims, Laax, Falera, September 9, 2025. The municipalities of Flims, Laax, and Falera are to take over the tourist infrastructure on the mountain owned by Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG. A long-term lease agreement is to be concluded with Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG for the operation of the infrastructure. The voters of the three municipalities will decide on the proposal of the three municipal councils in October.
Flims, Laax, and Falera want to secure ownership of the tourist infrastructure on the mountain owned by Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG. The municipal councils of the three municipalities want to prevent the facilities from being sold to outside investors. The Weisse Arena Group supports the plan; as a local company, it will continue to be responsible for operating the LAAX area.
All transport facilities, buildings, and tourist infrastructure on the mountain owned by Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG are to be bundled together with the snow-making facilities in Finanz Infra AG, which will belong to the three municipalities in the future. A long-term lease agreement is to be concluded with Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG.
Negotiations on the project are expected to be concluded in the coming weeks. The public will be informed about the project by the end of September. Votes will be held in the three municipalities at the end of October: at the municipal assemblies in Falera (October 23) and Laax (October 24) and by ballot on October 26 in Flims.
