4th Discovery Days in Flims Laax Falera

Discovery Day in Flims Laax Sport Investments White Arena Group

Laax, September 16, 2021. From September 23 to 25, 2021, it's that time again: Discovery Days in Flims Laax Falera is entering its fourth round with 18 new, exciting stories selected from around 150 submissions. Adventures, reports, and unique images from around the world will be presented to the audience at the Waldhaus Arena Flims – live and on the big screen. Awards will be given to the three best presentations, the best photograph, and the best story.

Adventurers, travelers, photographers, and a world record holder will take visitors to the fourth Discovery Days from Thursday, September 23, to Saturday, September 25, 2021, on spectacular journeys from the North Pole to the South Pole, through the Caucasus, and to the lost paradise of Borneo. They traveled on foot, by bike, on a real donkey, on a sailboat, on three wheels, and even on three legs, and will now share their stories and experiences at the Waldhaus Arena Flims. Discovery Days will now also be broadcast via livestream. The streaming host will personally introduce all 18 candidates to viewers and interview the jury, visitors, and organizers.

Chrigel Maurer: Seventh victory at the Red Bull X-Alps

To kick things off on Thursday evening, September 23, 2021, Chrigel Maurer from the Bernese Oberland will talk about the world's toughest paragliding endurance race, the Red Bull X-Alps, starting at 7:30 p.m. The seven-time winner will take the audience on a 1,200 km journey around the Alps by paraglider, revealing the challenges he had to overcome and what helped him win the race with a 20-hour lead over the runner-up.

Across the Alps on foot: local Christina Ragettli talks about her Via Alpina adventure

One of the 18 stories selected is that of Christina Ragettli from Flims and her long-distance hike along the Via Alpina. In four months, she hiked alone from Switzerland via Italy to Austria and on to Slovenia. In August, she reached the sea in Trieste and hiked the second part of the route from Switzerland via France to Monaco. Over the course of 2,000 kilometers, 18 weeks, and six countries, she experienced highs and lows and learned what it means to be out in nature every day and just keep walking. Christina Ragettli will tell us more about her journey on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2:55 p.m.

Thomas Ulrich: Adventurer, polar explorer, photographer

Thomas Ulrich is one of the world's most famous adventurers and outdoor photographers. As the star guest on Saturday evening, September 25, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., the Swiss adventurer will talk about his daring expeditions—such as the first crossing of the North Siberian archipelago of Franz Josef Land in over 100 years—and present his most inspiring photos in the exhibition.
