My apprenticeship with the Weisse Arena Group: Ghanizada Mustafa, restaurant specialist in his third year of training

Mustafa Ghanizada is in his third year of training to become a restaurant specialist EFZ and will complete his training in the summer of 2022. Restaurant specialists EFZ warmly welcome guests and accompany them to their tables. In short, they make sure that guests feel well looked after. Restaurant specialists EFZ know everything there is to know about food and drink and advise guests on their choices. Behind the scenes, they prepare simple dishes themselves and mix a variety of cocktails. They also maintain and clean the facilities, machines, and equipment in the restaurant area.

Mustafa came to Laax for his internship and subsequent apprenticeship as a restaurant specialist EFZ. This is also what connects him to the region in the first place: "I really like the Flims Laax Falera region and WAG is a great employer." Mustafa has always enjoyed working with people. During his internship, he realized that he also enjoys interacting with guests. He was all the more delighted when, after completing his internship, he was able to start his apprenticeship as a restaurant specialist EFZ straight away.

His daily work routine is very varied: "My duties revolve around looking after guests during their meals. This ranges from greeting them and showing them to their table to taking orders, serving food and generally cleaning the restaurant," explains Mustafa. Working hours in the catering industry vary greatly, and he mostly works part-time. "This means that I work two shifts a day. The first shift is from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second shift is from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m." Contact with guests is the reason why Mustafa looks forward to going to work every day. "What I like best about my apprenticeship is that I can make our guests happy through my work. The job is also very satisfying."

After completing his apprenticeship, he will continue to work for Weisse Arena Hospitality AG and will be working at the restaurant on Lake Cauma in the summer. "I would like to gain some more professional experience and then perhaps start further training at HotellerieSuisse, GastronomieSuisse, or at a hotel management school."
